Shantelle Murphy – Kinesiologist

Shantelle grew up in Chilliwack, BC and came to Calgary in 2002 on an academic scholarship to play varsity basketball at the University of Calgary. Her love for sport led her to pursue an education in the science of human movement and she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree.
During her university years, Shantelle honed practical field experience in weight lifting, Olympic weight lifting, and elite level training and testing. She also worked at the U of C Health and Wellness Fitness Centre as a fitness consultant and instructed core-focused fitness classes.
Shantelle is knowledgeable in Community Rehabilitation and Disability studies and has experience with special populations through volunteer work at the U of C Rehabilitation Centre.
Additionally, Shantelle has Coaching Level 1 certification and has been involved in multi-sport training camps in Calgary where she provides effective training environments for developing athletes.
Shantelle brings her passion for health and fitness to Preventous and keeps active by participating in sport leagues throughout Calgary.
Lindy Kennedy – Lifestyle Director

Lindy provides individual and personalized counselling for our clients as well as interactive group presentations at our facility.
A Registered Dietitian and certified Personal Trainer for Preventous Collaborative Health, Lindy obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition and then went on to complete a Masters degree in Health Promotion, both through the University of Alberta. She completed her coordinated internship in dietetics in Prince George, BC, Kamloops, BC, and Grande Prairie, AB. She holds her RD designation with the College of Dietitians of Alberta and holds membership with the Dietitians of Canada, American Dietetic Association, and Canadian Diabetes Association.
Lindy holds certifications with the American Council on Exercise in personal training, and the YMCA in group fitness instruction. She is currently completing the Personal Fitness Trainer diploma program with Mount Royal College and you may spot her teaching numerous group fitness classes throughout Calgary.
Lindy’s experience in both nutrition and fitness includes working with many organizations throughout Alberta. She has worked as a consultant with the YMCA, the YWCA, the Calgary Winter Club, the Bow Valley Club, and Johnson and Johnson. She has presented on numerous topics as well as assisted in employee health and wellness programming.
Lindy looks forward to providing you with professional and personalized service to meet your health and wellness needs. She believes that healthy fitness and nutrition goals can positively impact the lives of everyone and lead to a higher quality of life.
