Dr. Rohan Bissoondath – Medical Director

Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Rohan Bissoondath has been practicing medicine since 1997. He has worked in various disciplines of medicine including Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. At the University of Calgary, Dr. Bissoondath completed a residency in Family Medicine in 2004.
Dr. Bissoondath’s practice of medicine is based on combining current medical evidence with his well-developed clinical acumen. He brings a caring and compassionate attitude to each patient encounter.
Early in his study of medicine in Calgary, Dr. Bissoondath began to appreciate the value of keeping people healthy. Now, after years of treating patients after they have fallen ill, he has set his focus on a proactive approach to health.
As Medical Director of Preventous Collaborative Health, Dr. Bissoondath directs the medical portion of the initial health assessment. He subsequently contributes to the development, implementation and ongoing management of each client’s health plan.
In addition to his work at Preventous, Dr. Bissoondath keeps active at various urgent care centres and rural emergency departments within the Calgary Health Region. His interests extend to overall health and fitness with a strong emphasis on healthy eating and regular physical activity.
Dr. Sarb Grewal – Family Physician

A resident of Calgary since 1997, Dr. Sarb Grewal received his medical degree in 1984 from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Since that time, he has accumulated vast experience in various fields of medicine.
Dr. Grewal received post-graduate training in Family Medicine and Anesthesia in London, England. He has practiced family medicine in Canada since 1988, including several years of emergency medicine in the USA.
Dr. Grewal is active within the Calgary Health Region. His work includes medical and obstetric care at the Foothills Hospital and urgent care at the Sheldon Chumir Centre. During the past 10 years, he has been a member of numerous health boards and committees, contributing to the evolution of health care in Calgary.
Dr. Grewal leaves a busy family practice to pursue a career at Preventous. He brings years of medical experience, compassion and knowledge. His medical practice is focused on disease prevention and developing individual health goals, with special attention to a balance of both physical and psychological well-being.
As a member of the health care team at Preventous, Dr. Grewal is involved in the medical portion of the initial health assessment. He subsequently contributes to the development, implementation and ongoing management of each client’s health plan.
Dr. Grewal’s interests outside of work include a balance between married family life with three busy children, a pursuit of personal fitness and the challenge of golf!
Dr. Heather Taylor – Family Physician

Dr. Heather Taylor obtained her medical degree at the University of British Columbia in 2003, and then travelled to New Brunswick to complete a Rural Family Medicine residency through Dalhousie University in 2005. Following her residency, Dr. Taylor undertook additional post-graduate training with a Low Risk Obstetrical Fellowship through the University of Toronto. She also has a Kinesiology degree from Simon Fraser University.
Dr. Taylor is actively involved in hospital work, providing obstetrical deliveries and medical care at Foothills Hospital. She also teaches family medicine to learners in her obstetrical practice.
Bringing enthusiasm and a varied knowledge base to her practice at Preventous, Dr. Taylor is focused on preventive health care and wellness. She strives to personalize and optimize each individual’s health care goals. As a member of the health care team at Preventous, Dr. Taylor is involved in the medical portion of the initial health assessment. She subsequently contributes to the development, implementation and ongoing management of each client’s health plan.
Dr. Taylor’s interests outside of work include the pursuit of personal fitness, hiking and travel.
Dr. Aaron Woodard – Family Physician
Dr. Woodard completed a family medicine residency at the University of Calgary in 1996 after finishing undergraduate and medical school at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
After his residency, Dr. Woodard worked in a variety of positions in family practice and emergency medicine in Alberta, Saskatchewan and New Zealand. He also sailed, and worked on, the high seas in the South Pacific and Alaska as a physician with Norwegian Cruise Lines.
In 2000, Dr. Woodard returned to Calgary where he was employed at the 8th and 8th Health Centre. Today, he is a physician at Preventous as well as at Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre for Urgent Care.
Urgent care is important to Dr. Woodard. He has sat on a number of committees related to urgent care delivery throughout the health region.
An avid curler, Dr. Woodard won the Canadian Medical Curling Championship in 2004. He also enjoys playing hockey and skiing in the winter and hiking and golfing in the summer.
Dr. Maya Grover - Family Physician
Dr Grover obtained her medical degree in Vancouver at the UBC school of medicine. Prior to this, she obtained an oceanography degree from UBC.
Born and raised in Calgary, she returned home to do her residency training through the University of Calgary residency program, obtaining her fellowship in Family Medicine.
Dr. Grover continues a family tradition of medicine as her father, Dr Sunder Grover, was an esteemed surgeon in Calgary having practiced for 40 years.
During her medical training, Dr. Grover worked overseas doing work along the Burma border in Thailand and India, providing healthcare to refugees, as well as working in South Africa treating high risk populations of HIV.
Dr Grover values an open and empathetic exchange with her patients. She stresses the importance of a healthy lifestyle leading to longterm health benefits and brings a very current and pragmatic approach to her medical treatment.
Outside of medicine, Dr Grover is an avid runner and cyclist and enjoys travel.
